By 21 he was had been champion in four promotions in japan. At 22 he decided to try his luck in North America as well, eventually signing with United Pro Wrestling. Koba is well liked in the lockeroom and many vertans like Flash Adams have proclaimed him the future. Adams crowd Mabuchi the “Baby Killer” for his devastating knee strike, with Adams notes “has murdered many a man”.
